Subdomains are domains with a prefix. For example sub.domain.com (replacing sub with whatever you wish and domain with your actual domain name). So if for example you have a support department and a billing department, you could create support.domain.com and billing.domain.com. You can associate a subdomain with a folder on your account to upload your files to so each subdomain can have its own content. Or even set up redirectors to redirect traffic to a location of your choice.
